Certifications & Standards
Quality is the foundation of everything we deliver. GLB Valves holds internationally recognised certifications across quality management, product performance, and safety — ensuring every valve meets or exceeds the requirements of its intended service.
Product & System Certifications
Nine internationally recognised certifications covering quality management, product design, material compliance, and safety — so you can specify GLB valves with confidence.
ISO 9001:2015
Quality Management System
Internationally recognised quality management system certification. Covers design, manufacturing, testing, and delivery of industrial valves and machined components. Audited annually by accredited third-party certification body.
API 6D
Pipeline & Piping Valves
American Petroleum Institute specification for pipeline and piping valves including ball, gate, check, and plug valves. Covers design, manufacturing, testing, and marking requirements for valves used in pipeline and piping systems.
API 600
Bolted Bonnet Steel Gate Valves
API standard covering flanged, butt-welding, and short end gate valves made of carbon and alloy steels for petroleum and natural gas industry applications. Defines material, design, manufacturing, and testing requirements.
API 602
Compact Steel Gate Valves
API standard for compact forged steel gate valves with flanged, threaded, welding, and extended-body connections. Covers valves in sizes NPS 4 and smaller for petroleum and natural gas industries.
API 608
Metal Ball Valves
API standard for metal ball valves with flanged, threaded, and welding end connections. Covers two-piece, three-piece, and split-body designs for petroleum and natural gas industry applications.
CE/PED
Pressure Equipment Directive
European conformity marking under Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU (Module H). Enables legal placement of valves on the European market. Covers design, manufacturing, and conformity assessment procedures.
ATEX
Explosive Atmospheres
Certification under ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU for equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres. Ensures valves meet ignition protection requirements for hazardous area installations.
NACE MR0175
Sour Service / SSC Resistance
Compliance with NACE MR0175 / ISO 15156 for metallic materials used in oil and gas production environments containing hydrogen sulphide (H₂S). Ensures resistance to sulphide stress cracking (SSC), stress corrosion cracking (SCC), and hydrogen-induced cracking (HIC).
SIL / IEC 61508
Functional Safety
Safety Integrity Level certification per IEC 61508 for valves used in safety instrumented systems (SIS). Ensures reliable operation of emergency shutdown valves and other safety-critical applications.
Inspection & Test Standards
Every valve is tested in accordance with the applicable international standards. Additional testing — including fire-safe, cryogenic, and fugitive emissions — is available on request.
| Standard | Scope |
|---|---|
| API 598 | Valve inspection and testing — hydrostatic shell, backseat, and closure testing procedures |
