Sanitary Valves for Hygienic Processing
From dairy pasteurisation and UHT processing to beverage filling and food-grade blending — GLB delivers FDA-compliant, 3-A certified sanitary valves engineered for the food & dairy industry's strictest hygiene requirements.
Hygienic Solutions Across Food & Beverage
Purpose-engineered sanitary valve solutions for every stage of food, dairy, and beverage processing — from raw intake to finished product packaging.
Dairy Processing
Pasteurisation lines, UHT sterilisation, homogenisers, cream separators, and dairy filling systems require valves with zero dead-leg designs and full drainability. Our sanitary butterfly and ball valves ensure product purity from raw milk intake through to packaged output.
Food Manufacturing
Sauce blending, oil refining, condiment filling, and ready-meal production lines demand valves that resist product build-up and withstand aggressive CIP chemicals. GLB sanitary valves feature crevice-free bodies and FDA-compliant elastomers for reliable, hygienic operation.
Beverage Production
Brewing, juice processing, carbonated soft drinks, and bottled water lines require valves that preserve flavour integrity and carbonation while meeting strict hygiene standards. Our electropolished valves prevent taste transfer and biofilm formation across high-speed filling operations.
Engineered for Hygienic Environments
Food & dairy applications present unique challenges — strict hygiene standards, regulatory compliance, aggressive cleaning chemicals, and ultra-smooth surface requirements. Our valves are engineered to address each one.
Hygiene & Cleanability
Zero dead-leg valve geometries, self-draining body designs, and crevice-free sealing surfaces eliminate bacterial harbourage points. Every valve is designed to meet 3-A 63-series cleanability standards for repeatable sanitary performance.
FDA & Regulatory Compliance
All wetted materials — including 316L stainless steel bodies, PTFE seats, and EPDM seals — comply with FDA 21 CFR 177, EC 1935/2004, and EU 10/2011 for food-contact suitability. Full material traceability from melt source to finished valve.
CIP / SIP Compatibility
Valves are engineered for automated Clean-in-Place (CIP) cycles with caustic, acid, and sanitiser solutions at temperatures up to 95°C, and Sterilise-in-Place (SIP) cycles with saturated steam at 140°C / 3.5 bar.
Surface Finish Requirements
Product-contact surfaces are mechanically polished and electropolished to Ra ≤ 0.8μm (32 μin) as standard, with Ra ≤ 0.4μm available on request. Smooth finishes prevent product adhesion, reduce cleaning time, and inhibit microbial growth.
Relevant Certifications
Every valve supplied to the food & dairy sector meets the applicable food-contact, hygienic design, and quality management certification requirements.
