Casting Processes

Casting Methods

Three casting processes to match your component geometry, material requirements, and production volume — each with full metallurgical control and quality assurance.

Investment Casting

Lost-wax precision casting for complex geometries with excellent surface finish and tight dimensional tolerances. Minimal machining required on as-cast surfaces. Ideal for small-to-medium valve components.

Surface finish Ra 6.3 or betterUp to 150 kg per piece

Sand Casting

Versatile process for large valve bodies, bonnets, and heavy-wall components. Green sand, resin-bonded, and no-bake processes available for carbon, alloy, and stainless steel castings.

Up to 15,000 kg per pieceSizes up to 60"

Centrifugal Casting

Symmetrical, hollow cylindrical components with superior density and mechanical properties. Eliminates porosity and shrinkage defects inherent in static casting. Ideal for valve sleeves and rings.

Superior grain structurePipe and ring blanks up to 1200mm OD
Material Grades

Casting Materials

Extensive range of casting alloys from standard carbon steel to exotic nickel-based alloys. All heats chemically analysed and mechanically tested per ASTM requirements.

Full Production Capabilities

Complete capability from pattern making through casting, heat treatment, NDE, and final inspection — with full traceability at every stage.

Dedicated Pattern Making

Dedicated pattern shop with CNC pattern machining, 3D printed patterns for prototyping, and full pattern storage and maintenance. Rapid tooling modifications for engineering changes.

Radiographic Inspection

Real-time and film radiography per ASTM E94, E446, and E186. Computed radiography (CR) for digital archiving. All castings classified per ASME defect acceptance criteria.

PMI Testing

100% Positive Material Identification on all alloy castings using XRF spectrometry. Full chemical analysis reports with heat traceability to raw material certificates.

Heat Treatment

Dedicated heat treatment with programmable furnaces for normalising, quenching & tempering, solution annealing, and stress relieving. Full compliance with ASTM requirements.

Compliance

Standards & Certifications

All casting components are produced, inspected, and documented in full compliance with ASTM, ASME, and EN standards for material, testing, and quality requirements.
